About the AHS
The Arkansas Health Survey (AHS) is a representative, population-based multimode (online and mail) survey of resident adults in Arkansas. We are currently in the data collection phase of this project. Once data collection is complete, the AHS will be the largest health monitoring survey in the state of Arkansas. The survey will also include unique Arkansas-specific built environment and community-level measures that can be linked to individual survey responses (i.e., people nested within communities).
The AHS will provide communities with a rich set of health-related data that will assist policymakers, health administrators, public health practitioners, and others develop policies and innovative strategies to improve health and healthcare access in the state.
The AHS study team is comprised of twelve scholars from five state institutions in Arkansas. The team has extensive expertise in survey design and administration, public health, the built and community environment, and advanced quantitative methods. Dr. Michael Niño, is the Principal Investigator and Dr. Ben Amick is the co-principal investigator on the project.
